Arlyne Louise Sober, 85 of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Christiana Hospital.

Arlyne was born in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of the late Velia (Sabellico) and Robert Fox. She moved to Delaware in 1963 and was a homemaker. She worked part time for Colonial Parking. Arlyne was a devoted member of St. Matthews and Corpus Christi Churches. She volunteered for her parishes along with Meals on Wheels, the Sunday Breakfast Mission and the VA Hospital. Arlyne was predeceased by her husband, Donald Eugene Sober in 2016.

Arlyne will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly F. and Bob Ryan of Newark; her son, Wayne Sober of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Bob, Jr. (Amy), Melissa (John), Patrick, Lauren and Matthew; her great-grandchildren, Troy, Drew, Helen, Nadia, Patrick, Jr., Davis and Jaxson and her brothers, Robert Fox of Muncey, PA and Richard Fox (Billie) of Williamsport, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804 on Thursday morning, February 12, 2026 from 10 to 11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Matthews Church at the address above.
