Antoinette R. Westerbaan passed away on February 15, 2025. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and was the daughter of the late Ruth Rucinski and George Rucinski. She attended and graduated from St. Marks High School and then received her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware. She later completed her Master's degree in Nutrition from Immaculata University.

She worked as the Dietetic Internship Director for the Nutrition Department at the University of Delaware through 2010.

She enjoyed crafts, jewelry creation, cooking and knitting. Additionally, she was a lover of dogs.

Survived by her husband, Andries Westerbaan of Hockessin, and her brother Daniel Rucinski of Savannah, Ga.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 A.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 901 E Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Humane Society in Wilmington, All 4 Paws Rescue in Chester Springs, Pa. and the Jersey Girls Animal Rescue.
