Anthony H. DeGregory, "Tony", age 80 of Ocean View and Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 20, 2018 surrounded by his family.Tony, born in Wilmington, Delaware and raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey, was the son of the late Catherine & Vincenzo Di Gregorio and the son-in-law of the late Ann & Rocco Renzetti.Tony graduated from Brown Vocational High School & Temple University. He taught in and retired from the New Castle County VoTech School District.Tony's family was the absolute center of his life. He was outgoing and loved to talk. He genuinely enjoyed people of all walks of life. In later years he loved taking trips with his wife, Lee where he always found a "paisan" or two everywhere he went " finding common ground with anyone of any age - not limited to those who are just Italian. His other interests included gardening and cooking. Tony also believed that our youth is the hope of our future and strived to instill a sense of generosity and community service. Just a few examples of his active volunteerism included coaching various youth athletic teams over the years and being active in the church and the teacher's union. Simply put, you could count on him to lend a hand or an ear.Tony is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lee DeGregory (Renzetti); his 3 daughters, Gina Kylen (Carl), Lisa Wynn (Russell Littleton), Toniann DeGregory (David Horenstein); grandchildren, Lauren and Kenneth Wynn, and Benjamin Horenstein. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ann Tasker (Richard Pellak) and Elaine Kapelus (Michael); brother-in-law, Rocco Renzetti; and his brothers; James and Robert DeGregory; and several nieces, nephews and friends.Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Friday, January 26th at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 901 N. Dupont St, Wilmington, Delaware where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. Burial will immediately follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140, or Justin's Beach House, 844 Garfield Pkwy., Bethany Beach, DE 19930.
