Obituary

Anna Mae Cimperman, age 86, of Southport, NC, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.

Born in Cleveland, OH, Anna Mae was the daughter of the late Mary (Timko) and John Michael Putz.

She was a devoted homemaker for her husband and five children, providing a loving and steadying presence through their family's many moves-from Cleveland to Philadelphia and later to Greenville, South Carolina. There, through a serendipitous meeting with a neighbor, she discovered a new interest in computers. Earning a degree in Information Technology from Greenville Technical College, she began a successful second career with Digital Equipment Corporation and the Greenville County School District.

When she wasn't wrangling children or training colleagues, Anna Mae found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing tennis and golf, enjoying long walks with her husband and friends, and hosting spirited family card games, where her warm, unmistakable laugh always lit up the room.

One of her greatest joys was the annual family vacation to Emerald Isle, NC-a tradition she and her beloved husband Ralph began and lovingly maintained. Even in recent years, as her health declined, she looked forward to those cherished family gatherings by the sea.

Anna Mae was predeceased by her husband, Ralph John Cimperman, and her daughter, Karen Nauman.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Ralph Jr. and Dawn Cimperman, Joyce and David DeVoe, Ellen and Paul Sevieri, and Robert and Kathy Cimperman; her son-in-law, Mike Nauman; her grandchildren: Alison Nauman, Lindsay Nauman, Tom Cimperman, Megan Cimperman, Madison Cimperman, Whitney Jackel (Andy), Taylor Brown (Jake), Haley DeVoe, Evan Sevieri, Dan Sevieri, Ben Cimperman, Bradley Cimperman, Asher Smith, and Dominik Cimperman; her great-grandchildren: Lucas Jackel, Connor Jackel, Summer Brown, and Matthew Brown; and her brother and sister-in-law, John Jr. and Wilma Putz.

A Mass of Christian Burial and interment at All Saints Cemetery will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to
