Anna E. Bailey, age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 27th, 2022 at the Jeanne Jugan Residence. After 50 years apart, she will join her husband, Robert Bailey, in heaven. Born in Cecilton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Elsie (Whitlock) and James Wilson. Anna worked as a cook in the Madill Public School System for 11 years and as a cook in the kitchen at Little Sisters of the Poor for 23 years. She graduated from Cecilton School, and went on to further her education at Delaware Technical Community College, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Anna enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, and taking care of others. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband, to whom she was incredibly devoted, Robert Bailey; her son-in-law, Raymond Blackwell; and her siblings, Robert Wilson and Dianne Sprout. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Virginia Blackwell, and Robin and Richard Beach; her grandsons whom she helped raise, George Lutz, Jr., and Robert Lutz; her brothers, James Albert Wilson, Edward Wilson (Upon), and John LeRoy Wilson (Martha); her sister, Carol Wilson; her brother-in-law, Edwin Sprout (Nancy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral services will be held privately. Burial will be held in the St. Paul's Cemetery in Earlville, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road Newark, DE 19713.
