Ann Marie Stevens, age 93, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late Anna (Ash) Riley and Joseph R. Riley Sr. A long time resident of Wilmington, DE, she was a graduate of P.S. DuPont High School. Ann Marie enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was the matriarch of the family and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Her favorite moments were when she was surrounded by her family. She was a long-time member of St. Matthew Parish and held an unwavering faith in God.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 73 years, Eddie Stevens. She will be dearly missed by her pride and joy; her children and their spouses, Richard and Penny Stevens, and Mary K. and Bill LaRue; grandchildren, Andrea Stevens, Peter (Caitlin) Stevens, and Melissa LaRue; great grandson, Spencer; sister, Lillian "Boots" (Bill) Cassel; sister-in-law, Elsie Jane Megonigal; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pk, Wilmington, DE 19805, from 10-11AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ann's name to the Ronald McDonald house of Delaware, 1901 Rockland Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803.
