Anita Sophie
Myura
September 20, 1939 – September 6, 2022
Anita Sophie Myura, our loving, and devoted mother and wife passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2022 with her family by her side.
Born in Upper Darby, PA on September 20, 1939, Anita was the daughter of Joseph and Pearl DiRocco. Anita retired from Delaware Trust Bank after 25 year of service and lived the rest of her life in Ocean View Delaware with her husband John where she volunteered for 10 years with the Bethany Beach Library.
Anita was the definition of selfless, always putting others needs before hers. She was extremely proud of her family and loved them dearly. She had a very unique way of making everyone feel special when they were in her company. Second to the love of her family, Anita loved to cook!! Whether she was cooking dinner for her friends or making her traditional five course family Christmas dinners, nothing was too much for her in the kitchen. She was always the perfect hostess for family, friends, and neighbors.
As an avid sports fan, Anita enjoyed all Philadelphia sports but her real love was college football. Whether it was watching games on Saturday afternoons or Eagles games on Sunday, it was time together with her family that she truly loved.
Anita was amazing at many things, but her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted wife to John for almost 60 years and a loving mother, mom-mom, great grandmom, and friend.
Anita is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Joseph Myura; her five children, Lisa Gray (Jim), Linda Reagan (Jim), Christine Parsells (Al), Michelle Reda, and John Myura (Denise); her grandchildren, John, Alex (Ryan), Jimmy, Kellie (Matt), Michele (Dan), Madelynn, Adriana, John, Luke, Evan, Alexis, Sophia; her great grandchild, Alex.
A visitation will be held on Monday September 12th from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 A.M at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 82 Possum Park Rd, Newark, DE 19711. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
