Angelo Joseph Marinelli, Sr., age 88, of Smyrna, DE, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024 with family by his side.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Lucy (D'Achino) and Angelo Marinelli. He attended John Bartram High School and went on to work as a presser and foreman in garment manufacturing at Philadelphia's historic Botany 500 and After Six tailor houses. Angelo absolutely loved music, from singing to playing his keyboard and guitar. Whether he was sitting around a fire playing guitar with a friend or at the Bon Ayre Community Center with his bandmates, he loved to create his own renditions of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and the Rat Pack. He was also a fantastic cook who was known for his "gravy", and his Italian cooking. Angelo treasured holiday events with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and watched every single game. Angelo had many fond memories of Summers spent at Indian Acres campground with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by those closest to him.

Angelo is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years and partner of 70 years, Barbara A. Marinelli; his children, Donna Marinelli (Lawrence Boggs) and Michael Marinelli; his grandchildren, Lauren, Angelo III, Andrea, Madison, and Haley; his great grandchildren, Charlie and Nicholas; and his sister, Florence DeNicola. He is predeceased by his parents, Lucy and Angelo Marinelli; his son, Angelo J. Marinelli, Jr.; his siblings, Loretta Cilli and Joseph Marinelli.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.
