Angel Morales Aponte, age 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Angel was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and graduated from Ponce High School. After high school, Angel joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam from 1964-1966. After returning from the service, Angel had various factory jobs. He worked at Dixon Valve Company in Chestertown, MD while living in Rock Hall, Maryland. He moved to Wilmington, DE, and worked for Martin Honda until his retirement. In his free time, Angel was a deacon at Limestone Presbyterian Church. He also joined the Western Branch YMCA and was on the board of governors for several years.

Angel and Janice loved to travel. Their last trip together was in April 2023, where they visited Normandy, France, an experience that deeply moved him.

Angel is survived by his life partner, Janice Underwood; close family friend, Jane Moore, and numerous friends, nieces, and nephews whom he loved.

Funeral services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Angel's name to Limestone Presbyterian Church or the Western Branch of the YMCA.
