Obituary

Alice E. Boggs, 66 of New Castle passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loving husband, Phil, and no longer suffering.

Alice was born in Wilmington DE, the daughter of the late Alice (Swift) and Paul Neece. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her sister, Rosemarie Neece and her husband, Philip G. Boggs in 2021.She proudly worked as a waitress at Govatos for many years before becoming a purchasing agent for American Insurance Group and MetLife where she worked for over 25 years.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Smyth; her grandsons and their wives, Harry "Doo" and Kate and Andrew "Drew" and Angel; her sisters, Jenney Coleman and Darlene Craig; her step-son and his wife, Philip "Mike" and Leveta Boggs and her step-daughter and her husband, Mari Michelle "Micki" and John Tarkington.

Alice was a hard worker who would do anything for her family; she always looked forward to the holidays, especially Christmas so she could have her family over and spoil them with gifts and a delicious dinner. She was best known for her mac & cheese and coleslaw. She also enjoyed shopping at the local thrift stores with her sister, Jenney. In their earlier years, Alice and her husband Phil took pleasure in entertaining their friends and family. If you couldn't find them at the New Castle Moose Lodge(#1578) they were at their home bar, singing and dancing into the early morning hours. The family would like to show special recognition to Alice's sister, Jenney who lived with her this last year so the two could enjoy each other's company after the passing of Phil.
