Alfred W. Mullen "Fred", 75 of New Castle passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Accent Hospice with his family close by his side.

Born in Wilmington, Fred was the son of the late Evelyn (Bowlsby) and James H. Mullen. He graduated from Newark High School and received his degree from the Culinary Institute of America, New York, in 1974. Fred truly enjoyed his long career as a chef for Three Little Bakers and retired as a chef for Delaware Park.

In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brother, Frank, his brother-in-law, Larry Watson and his sister-in-law, Fran Mullen.

Fred is survived by his siblings, Nancy Watson, Jim Mullen and Helen Lee and her husband, Wayne, all of Newark and Beverly and Jeff Mullen of New Castle and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 10 to 11 AM. A service will begin at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
