Albert C. Stein, 91 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Albert was born in New York City, NY the son of the late Jennie (Kollar) and Albert T. Stein. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Muhlenberg College and his Master's Degree from Lehigh University. Albert worked as a chemist for over 35 years for the DuPont Company and after retiring, he founded a hazmat training company called EMRES, Ltd. He was a member of the New Castle County Local Emergency Planning Commission. His wife, Barbara (Richter) Stein predeceased him in 1980.

Albert will be dearly missed by his daughter, Allison Stein of Wilmington; his son and daughter-in-law, Albert O. Stein and Caitlin Cavalier Stein of San Francisco, CA; his grandsons, William Otto and Albert Joseph; his sister and her husband, Jane and Gordon Ripley of North Port, Florida and his best friend, a Shiba Inu named Riki.

He was a life-long enthusiast of ice hockey and football, both of which he played. He was also a coach and referee of ice hockey and umpired little league for many years. His friends will remember his love of trains and his storytelling. His grandchildren remember his love of chemistry and lessons he taught by helping him with his pool.
