Albert Joseph Jude Anthony, "Bud" age 58, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at AccentCare Hospice surrounded by his family and friends.
Bud was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Rita Marie (Hannagan) and Albert Eugene Anthony. He graduated from Thomas McKean High School followed by electrical training at Delcastle Technical School. Ultimately achieving his Master Electrician License from the State of Delaware. After working for several employers as an electrician, he established his own business, A.J. Anthony Electric Inc. Bud's entrepreneurial spirit contributed to his success with numerous ventures over the years. In 2014, he was fortunate enough to join ProWorks, Inc., as their Electrical Supervisor. They generously supported him during his illness and their kindness will not be forgotten.
In his younger years, Bud enjoyed four-wheeling, monster trucks, working on cars and building his Bethany Beach home with the help of his friends. Bud loved hosting dinners, barbeques, and crabs on the back deck. He also enjoyed frequenting Delaware Park and the Chesapeake Inn. His extensive network of professional contractors built over decades made him a very valuable resource. He always knew someone who could get the job done! If you met Bud, you had a friend for life. He was a wonderful man, very humble, kind and generous. He loved easily and was easy to love.
Bud will be dearly missed by his wife of 12 years, Denise Lafferty Anthony; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Paul Wilkinson of Wilmington; his niece, Elyse Ratsep and her husband, Timothy, of Wilmington, and their children, Gwyneth and Timmy; his stepdaughters, Lauren Finley (Kushner) and her husband, Trevor, and their son, Crew, of Taylors, SC; Morgan Kushner of Lewes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Friends and family are invited to visit at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Saturday, September 16th from 9 to 11:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to AccentCare Hospice Center at Christiana Hospital, 4755 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19718 or a charity of your choice.
