Adam K. Smith, "Kerry", age 81 of Wilmington, DE passed away on March 22, 2026. Born in Wilmington, DE, he attended Penns Grove High School and went on to work for 20 years as a Diesel Mechanic for Mack Trucks. Following his retirement, Kerry wasn't ready to slow down and fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening his own landscaping company, named "Smiths Lawn Cutting". After working in landscaping, he went on to spend 11 years as a night custodian in Red Clay Consolidated School District.

Kerry enjoyed working on small machinery around his house, coin collecting, and was an avid fisher. He spent time boating and fishing at Jessop's Pond, Lums Pond, and McGinnis Pond. Kerry was a member of the longtime running "DD Club" who met at Dunkin Donuts in Millcreek every morning. He will be dearly missed by his close friends who he spent hours chatting with, including Bob, Kevin, Joe, JR, Tom, and his lifelong friend, Roy.

Kerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan Smith; his daughters and their spouses, Theresa Smith, Carol Lee Bachman-Smith (Heather) and Carrie Winters (Eugene); his grandchildren, Heather (Tom), Mathew, Kayla (Logan), and Christopher (Hannah); and his great grandchildren, Samantha, Annabelle, Saige, Jhavia, Isla, and bonus great grandchild, Baby Girl Z.  He was predeceased by his father, Kermit Smith and his parents Mary  Ann (Bridges) and Fred Bradford who was a devoted father in every way that mattered.

A visitation will be held on Monday March 30th from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with Words of Remembrance to begin at 12:30 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
