Obituary

William S. Bristow, 66, of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. Bill was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Gertrude (Krajnik) and Conway J. Bristow, Sr. He graduated from Wilmington High School and attended the University of Delaware where he studied History. Bill worked with and advocated for Persons with Disabilities for the State of Delaware. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church where he cherished being a member of the choir. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family at the Delaware beaches within ever-expanding circles in the sand. He was a passionate and talented gardener who always shared his talents. Bill made friends everywhere he went and loved to celebrate every holiday on the calendar, especially St. Patrick's Day. Parade Day in Wilmington has been and always will be associated with Bill by many. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Richard Schneider for always being there for Bill. Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Lachlan Maxwell of Ashburn, VA; his granddaughters, Annalivia and Nora; his brothers and their wives, Dave of Lewes, Bob and Pat of Wilmington, Tom of Wilmington, and Conway, Jr. and Annette of Lewes, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 301 N. Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
