Age 91, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Millcroft Nursing Home surrounded by her family.Born in Wilmington, Theresa was the daughter of the late Bernard and Josephine (Pufahl) McManus. She was a graduate of Delaware Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years at the Delaware Division Hospital. Her memberships included Holy Angels Church and the Parish of the Resurrection. Her husband, Francis O. Ruane, predeceased her in 2011.Theresa will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brian Dalphon of Hockessin; her sons, Kevin Ruane of Christiana and Mark Ruane of Austin, TX; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Kristin and Connor. Also surviving her are her brother, Lawrence "Dinny" McManus and her sister-in-law, Lil; and her sister-in-law, Ruth McManus of Seaford, DE.The family would especially like to thank the staff at Somerford Place, Millcroft Nursing Home and Seasons Hospice.Friends and family are invited to visitation on Tuesday, March 6th between 6 and 8 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington.
