Sema Mellian, age 79, of Newark, DE, quietly passed away on September 26, 2015 at Season's Hospice, surrounded by her family. Born in New York City, Sema was the daughter of the Avadis and Victoria Ohanian. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts. Sema was an Artist and Teacher at Wilmington University for 13 years, she retired in 2014. She was a member of the Pen Women of Delaware, the Rehobeth Art League and a member of the St. Sahag & St. Mesrob Aremenian Christian Church's Women's Guild.Sema is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Meroojan Mellian; a son, Mark Armen Mellian of Newark; a daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Joe Boerner of Milton, De; two grandchildren, Helen and Gregory Ounjian; two brothers, John and Jack Ohanian; and a sister, Lucy Murad. The eulogy will be delivered at 10:30 on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Mealey Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19805, visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Funeral services and interment will be held at 1:30 in Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
