Sandra M. Palmer, age 63, passed away at Christiana Hospital on July 1, 2020. Born in New Orleans, she was the daughter of the late Emily (Bennett) and Reese Miller. After moving to Delaware, Sandra worked at MBNA for over 15 years. She went on to work for Delaware Park in various capacities, including as a clerk, hostess, and salesperson. Sandra enjoyed spending her free time sculpting pottery and figurines. Prior to her illness, Sandra loved to go camping and enjoyed cooking. In addition to her parents, Sandra is predeceased by her sister, Jean Fuller.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael A. Palmer, Sr.; her sons, Michael A. Palmer, Jr. of Wilmington, DE and Brian and Cynthia Palmer of New Castle, DE; her sisters-in-law, Annette DiEduardo (Victor) of Newark, Mary Tina Palmer (Charlie Perkins) of Wilmington, and Donna Mitchell of Wilmington; her brothers-in-law, Alfred Palmer, Jr. of California and Robert Fuller of Mississippi; her nieces and nephews whom she shared a close bond with, Tammy Turner, Tracy VonDarl, and Edwin Hickman; and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 3 to 4 P.M with funeral services beginning at 4 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be private.
