Age 78, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.Born in Yonkers, NY, Richard was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Cherlock) Beck. He was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, School of Engineering and The George Washington University School of Law. For 45 years, he was an accomplished intellectual property attorney for Connolly, Bove, Lodge & Hutz, LLP, in Wilmington, DE. He was a long-time member of St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church. Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with family. He was a summer resident of Stone Harbor, New Jersey for 43 years and was an avid handyman, fisherman, and cook.He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Elizabeth "Mitzi" (Greeley) Beck; his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard M., Jr. and Elizabeth (deceased) of Bryn Mawr, PA, Christopher L. and Kate of Newark, DE and Peter G. and Kristin of Ardmore, PA; eight grandchildren: Max, Caroline, Riley, Patrick, Avery, Maggie, Erin and Kelsey; and a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Col. Carl Sciple (Ret.) of Wellesley, MA.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE 19807 where friends are invited for visitation after 9:30 AM.
