Richard K. McCoy, Jr. "Rick", 44 of Wilmington, DE passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Rick was born in Wilmington, the son of Audrey (Stevens) Saunders and Richard K. McCoy, Sr. He attended Dickinson High School and was a self-employed master drywall finisher and carpenter. Rick went by many aliases, Richard, Rick, Ricky, Rickda, Rick the Kid and The Real McCoy. Rick had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. He avidly loved music and played the drums and bass guitar. Rick enjoyed the outdoors, mostly the beach, surfing and skim boarding. He was best known for his quick sense of humor, his infectious smile and ability to bring laughter to any room. His kind and compassionate spirit will be remembered by all the lives he touched. Rick will be missed by this mother, Audrey Saunders of Rising Sun, MD; his father and stepmother, Richard and June McCoy of Wilmington, DE; his daughters, Isabella and Hannah; his sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Dean Warsing of Rising Sun, MD; his stepsister, Megan Nowell and her husband, Doug of Rehoboth, DE; his stepbrother, Zachary Hansen of Hockessin, DE; his niece and nephew, Adelaide and Broden Warsing; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Lois McCoy of Lewes, DE; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation will be held at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 5:00-7:00PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 7:00PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in Rick's honor to a charity/organization of your choosing.
