Obituary

Patricia Olive Templin, "Pat", age 92, of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.Born December 19, 1926 in London, England, the daughter of Olive and William Carter, Pat was a WWII War Bride, coming to the United States in March of 1946, at the age of 19. She had been employed by E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., retiring with over 30 years of service as a hostess and waitress in the Green Room and the Brandywine Room of the Hotel DuPont. Pat was an avid gardener, attending national flower and gardening shows. As a world traveler, she visited Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, Germany, Paris, France and her homeland of England several times, often with her children in tow. Her kindness for animals was apparent as she always had a four-legged friend by her side. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Madeline Cole and her sister, Shirley McElroy.Pat will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Peter Rynard of Hawaii, Patricia Sarge of Tennessee, Michael and Eve Rynard of Rustburg, Virginia, Erik and Pilar Compello of Newark, Delaware, and Christine and Michael Welz of Hockessin, Delaware; her 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Rita Mason and Evelyn Bates, both of Essex, England and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.A Christian service dedicated to Pat will be held at the Abundant Life Church (alcde.org) on March 3, 2019 at 10 AM, immediately following at 11 AM will be a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Dr, Wilmington, DE 19804.
