Patricia M. O'Donnell, 80, of Newark passed away peacefully on Monday February 28, 2022 at Seasons Hospice in Wilmington, DE.

Pat was born in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Florence (Loughran) and Joseph O'Donnell.  She received her Bachelor's Degree from Chestnut Hill College and her Master's Degree from Villanova University.  Patricia was a member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph for 23 years.  Pat was a teacher and principal at both Holy Angels and St. Anthony of Padua Grade Schools, retiring in 2010.  She was a member of both parishes.

In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her brother, Michael and her dear friend, Kay McAlarnen.  She leaves behind three nieces, a nephew, several grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as numerous cousins and close friends to cherish her memory.

Anyone who knew Pat knows how proud she was of her Irish heritage.  She enjoyed researching her ancestry and made several trips to Ireland to connect with her Irish roots.  Family, friends, animals and Ireland were her greatest joys.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday March 7, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Ninth and DuPont Streets, Wilmington at 11:00 AM, where friends can call after 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
