Obituary

Paolina Vitale (Lina), age 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away on August 24, 2021. She was born on August 4, 1933, in the town of Introdacqua, Prov. di L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy. Daughter of Elda and Francesco Del Signore. She immigrated to the United States in 1957. She worked several jobs, was a homemaker and, finally her last job at Chrysler which she always proudly claimed, that she worked with the guys on the assembly line. She belonged to the Italian-American club, order of the Sons of Italy. She loved to dance the night away at any function that had music, with her late husband, Duilio, who predeceased her. In addition to her parents, Paolina was predeceased by her son, Sabatino Vitale and his wife and daughter-in-law Molly; sister, Claudina; and brothers, Vilio and his wife, Filomena, and Luciano. Paolina is survived by her son, Duilio F. "Leo" Vitale, Jr.; grandchildren, Valentina, Gabriella, Sabatino "Tino" II, Cristiano, and Sandro Vitale; great grandsons, whom she adored so much, Richard Kokoszka III, and Lorenzo Texidor; her brother, Carmine Del Signore and his wife, Carmela of Hockessin, DE; and her brother-in-law, Venanzio Susi of Wilmington, DE. A visitation will be held at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Monday from 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Ninth and DuPont Streets on Tuesday morning beginning at 11 A.M. Entombment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
