Matthew V. Felicetti "Matt", age 51, of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by his family on July 2nd, 2018. Born in Washington, D.C. he was the son of Constance (Leo) and Frank N. Felicetti. Returning with his parents to their home area of Kennett Square, PA in 1978, he graduated from Unionville High School, where he played tuba in the orchestra. He also played football in his senior year, along with a group of several other first time senior year players, resulting in the group receiving an MVP award for the positive difference they made.Matt attended the University of Scranton until illness prevented him from continuing. With his family now in Wilmington, DE Matt, after hospitalizations, spent time volunteering at NAMI-DE, the West End Neighborhood House, and Tilton Terrace Nursing Home. Matthew began a work career in retail sales and continued his college education by taking one course at a time, Spring and Fall, at the University of Delaware for 10 years, receiving his BA in History in 2010. He was diagnosed with Parkinsonism in 2012.Matthew considered loving, caring for, and sharing time with, his friends and family as most important to him in life. He also enjoyed music, artwork, cooking, baking, eating, some travel, and was a thrifty shopper. He disseminated his baked goods at Christmas to thank persons in businesses that served his needs all year. Matthew accepted the changes in his health and environment over these recent years, and never complained!Matthew is survived by his parents, Frank and Connie Felicetti; his brother, Stephen Felicetti; his Aunt Judy Bonifacino; his Aunt Fran and Uncle Tom Holmes; and numerous cousins.The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to all of the staff and residents of Genesis Hillside Center, for the warm, tender loving care they gave Matthew these last two years; and to Seasons Hospice for their recent caring support.A celebration of Matt's faith and goodness will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018 with visitation from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00AM at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 2503 Centerville Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
