Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Beck, "Mitzi", 88, of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Brackenville Center. Mitzi was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Mary (Flynn) and Joseph Greeley. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and the University of Delaware and worked as a school teacher and later as a real estate broker for Gilpin Realty for over 10 ten years. Mitzi was a member of St. Joseph's on the Brandywine Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also served on the Junior Board of Christiana Hospital and was an active member of the Junior League. Mitzi was a summer resident of Stone Harbor, New Jersey and enjoyed many great family memories at the shore. In addition to her parents, Mitzi was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Richard M. Beck in 2016 and her sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor A. Ozier and John R. Ozier. Mitzi is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard M., Jr. and Elizabeth (deceased) of Bryn Mawr, PA, Christopher L. and Kate of Newark, DE and Peter G. and Kristin of Ardmore, PA; and by her eight grandchildren: Max, Caroline, Riley, Patrick, Avery, Maggie, Erin and Kelsey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE 19807 where friends are invited for visitation after 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
