Kevin J. Lander, age 59, of Wilmington, DE passed away on March 8, 2020 surrounded by his family. Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of the late Mary (McCarthy) and Benjamin T. Lander, Jr. Kevin graduated from Dickinson High School and worked as a chef at Delaware Park. He was a parishioner at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Kevin loved the beach, especially Ocean City, MD and would spend time there almost every summer. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to football and baseball games. He also liked vacationing in Florida, and lived there for a time when he was younger. Kevin had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, especially at family gatherings. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin Lander, his nephew, Shaun Baxter and his brother-in-law, Thomas Baxter. Kevin is survived by his brothers, James "Jim" and Joseph Lander; his sisters, Kathleen Baxter and Theresa Duffy, and her husband, John; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Ministry of Caring, 115 E. 14th St, Wilmington DE, 19801.
