Age 78, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family.Born in Wilmington, Joan was the daughter of the late Millard Francis and Gladys (Stewart) Maloney. She attended grade school at Christ Our King Elementary School, was a 1955 graduate of Ursuline Academy, and a 1958 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at the Delaware Hospital and, in 1982, transitioned to Wound Ostomy. She retired in 1999 from Christiana Care Health Systems. Joan enjoyed reading, dogs (she was the queen of dog-sitting) and especially spending time with her family at her dream home of 20 years in Lewes. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred P. Reardon, and two sons, Donald and David. She will be dearly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Molly and David Siple and Katherine "Kate" and Timothy Parks, all of Wilmington; her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Tusi, Eric and Sean Parks, and John and Rebecca Reardon; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Mary Maloney of Hockessin, DE.Friends and family are invited to visitation on Tuesday, November 24th from 9 to 10:30 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Tuesday following the visitation.
