Age 82, of Escondido, CA, passed away peacefully at his daughter's residence on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 surrounded by his family.Born in Pittston, PA, Gerald was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Walinchus) Vetack. He moved to Irvington, NJ and later, Tempe, AZ before residing in California. From 1987 through 2015, he was the founder and owner of Universal Quartz Company located in San Marcos, CA. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Escondido Country Club. He enjoyed gardening, listening to country music, and traveling with his family. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State football fan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph.Gerald will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte (Serino) Vetack; his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Jr. and April Woods of San Diego, CA; his daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Mark Brainard of Newark, DE; three grandchildren, Jason, Mark, and Bridget; and a great grandson, Tyler. Also surviving are his sisters Jeannie Talipan and her husband Mike, and Margie Vetack, all of Pittston, PA; his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara Vetack of Victorville, CA; his sister-in-law, Vernadine Vetack of Pittston, PA; and many special nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Monday, May 30th at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark after 9:00am where a Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00am.
