George Thomas Smith, Jr., 70, of Landenberg, PA, formerly of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Falls Church, VA, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019.Born and raised in Falls Church, VA, George was the son of the late George Thomas, Sr. and Manila (Malcolm) Smith.He attended Shepherd College, earning a Bachelor's degree, and was a proud member of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. George, a talented musician, was a dedicated member of the Pomona Concert Band and the Ontario Chaffey Community Band, both based in California. George's quick wit and dry sense of humor made him well-known throughout the community and a friend to many.George is survived by his wife of 44 years, Athena (Karas) Smith; his daughter, Valerie Campbell and her husband, Nick, of Thousand Oaks, CA; and his grandchildren, Macy and Malcolm.Services and burial will be private.
