Fredric Paul Gainer, 81 of Newark passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.Fredric was born in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late Naomi (Boswell) and Paul Gainer. He graduated from Newark High School and Wilmington University. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. Fred worked for over 20 years as a purchaser for the DuPont Company. He was a music lover, and avid Philadelphia Sports Fan and a member of the Delaware Saengerbund.Fred is survived by his sons, David P., William F., and Mark A. Gainer, all of Newark.Military honors will be rendered at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Friday morning, September 27, 2019 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Wilmington Regional Office, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805.
