Frances G. Roderick, age 87, of New Castle, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, June 21, 2021. Frances was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Gertrude (Harris) and Louis Carey. Frances worked at the Delaware State Hospital until her retirement. She was a longtime volunteer at the Minquadale Fire Company as a part of the Women's Auxiliary for many years. In her free time, she loved to have tea with her cousin and friend Marty and spend as much time as possible with her family. Nothing made her happier than getting to spend time with her grand and great grand kids. Frances was predeceased by her husband, John Roderick Sr.; her sons, George and Francis Roderick; and grandsons Michael and Francis Roderick, Jr. Frances is survived her sons, John Roderick Jr., Joseph (Rose) Roderick, and Louis (Kathy) Roderick; her daughter, Gertrude Roderick; and her numerous grand and great grandkids. Joe would like to thank his beautiful wife Rose, his sister Trudy, and their family friend Jacklyn for the excellent around-the-clock care they provided for Frances. A graveside service for Frances will take place on Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, at 11:30 am at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy, Newcastle DE 19720.
