Edmund A. Georgi, age 89, of Wilmington, DE passed away at home on April 28th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Vineland, NJ, he was the son of the late Doris (Doughty) and Edmund A. Georgi Sr. After High School, Ed joined the US Navy at the end of WWII and served on the USS Missouri. He later graduated from Drexel University. He retired in 1989 from Opportunity Center Inc. (OCI) in Wilmington after 30 years. He loved watching all sports, woodworking, winters in Florida and spending time with his family and friends at home. Ed was predeceased by first wife, Margaret "Rita" Georgi in 1980 and his second wife, Mary Georgi in 2017 and his grandson Christopher Puliti.Ed is survived by his 5 daughters and their husbands, Lynne and Gary Wroten of Newark, DE, Shelly and Jim Klabe of Wilmington, DE, Robin and Larry Davis of Wilmington, DE, Valerie and Brian Rorabaugh of Newark, DE, Renee and Donald Crumlish of Wilmington, DE and his step-daughters and husband, Janice Puliti of Ivyland, PA, and Carol and Hank Rome of Hockessin, DE; his 17 grandchildren; and his 13 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for their assistance in Ed's final days. A visitation will be held at Mealey Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808 from 10 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday May 8th 2018, followed by a short Celebration of Life at 11 AM.
