David John Kelly, age 77, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. David was born in Wilmington, son of the late Alice Cecelia (Sevier) and James Alfonces Kelly. David graduated from Salesianum High School and began his career as a pipe insulator for the asbestos workers union. He was a proud member and advocate for the Local Asbestos Union 42. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and loved spending time with his family and his dogs as much as possible. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the theater for plays and movies, but most of all rooting on his beloved Phillies and Eagles. In addition to his parents, David was pre deceased by his brothers, Roger, Donald, Robert, James, and William "Billy" Kelly; and sisters, Marie Steinberg, Kathleen Connell, and Alice Leonzio. David is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Kelly; son, David (Evangeline) Kelly; daughter, Kimberly Kelly; grandchildren Stacy Konkiel, Melissa Rogers, and Jimmy Rogers; brothers, Michael and Edward Kelly; sisters, Theresa Nolan and Yvonne Mayo; sister-in-law, Felice Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom he all loved very much. Services and Burial will be held privately.
