D. Jeanette Hawks, 75 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her family.Jeanette was born in Galax, VA, the daughter of the late Helen (Lawson) and Dean Hawks. She retired in 2006 from New London Textile after more than 20 years as an administrative assistant. She was a member of the Delaware Saengerbund and Cedars Church. She was formerly active in the Faith City Church and enjoyed cooking, traveling and being with family and friends.Jeanette is survived by her son, James D. Hillegas of Newark and her grandchildren, Maxwell and Riley Kate.Friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday, March 16th after 3 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where funeral services will begin at 5 PM. Burial will be private.
