Christopher Andrew Dempsey, age 51, of Newark, DE passed away on December 16th 2021. Born in Media, PA he was the son of Annette (Canci) and the late William Steven Dempsey, Jr. Chris was self-employed and managed a housekeeping business. Aside from work, Chris loved visiting the beach and was a big supporter of the Mummer's parades. He enjoyed taking walks in local parks, gardening, and planting flowers when he had the time.

Chris will be dearly missed by his partner, Rene Ostarek of Bear, DE; his mother, Annette Dempsey; and his siblings, Bill Dempsey (Debbie), Rose Dempsey, Barbara Dempsey, and Marianne Dempsey; his 5 nieces and nephews; and his 3 great nieces and nephews and 1 great nephew due next week.

A visitation will be held on Thursday December 23rd, 2021 from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12 P.M. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Clayton and Cedar Streets Wilmington, DE 19805. Burial will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a foundation that Chris supported by participating in an annual walk to remember lives lost to the epidemic, the National AIDS Memorial, P.O.
