Charles A. Luppy, Jr., "Chuck" 69 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on December 6, 2017 at his home.Chuck was born in Springfield, MO, the son of the late Inez and Charles A. Luppy. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For many years he worked at Amtrak and later worked as a supervisor for NVF Corp.Chuck was an avid softball player winning many Championships with Amtrak, Riccio's, Jammin Jesse's, Captains Log and many more. Most recently Chuck enjoyed umpiring for softball.Chuck is survived by his longtime companion and love of his life, Deborah Freebery; his children, Christopher (Dontae), Adam (Heather), Dana, Ryan (Erin), and Daniel (Sarah); his grandchildren, Dylan, Olivia, James, and Kelliann; and his brother, Bob Donaldson.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Richardson Park United Methodist Church, 11 N. Maryland Avenue, Wilmington at 12 Noon. Friends may call at the church after 11 AM. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
