Carole J. Huxtable, age 86, of New Castle, DE passed away on August 6, 2018. Born in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of the late Raymond George and Louella Francis (Freeman) Trapp. She worked at a children's hospital in Columbus, OH, was an administrative assistant for the Delaware House of Representatives, administrative assistant for ICI Stuart, and finally retired from Astra Zeneca.Along with her parents, Carole was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Richard Huxtable, Jr. in 1979. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Aman (Chris) of Avondale, PA; son, Barton Huxtable (Jacki) of Gambrills, MD; grandchildren, Madi, Zachary, Judy, Lisa, and Greg; sister, Joann Iles of Grove City, OH; and brother, Tom Trapp (Nancy) of Columbus, OH.Carole enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Astra Zeneca choir, and loved going out for meals with her friends and her "Ladies' Lunch Group"! She collected Longaberger baskets, Hallmark Christmas ornaments, and Snowbabies figurines; the thrill of the hunt for discount prices giving her the most excitement. She even participated in hunting for Pokemons with friends, even though she didn't understand the point of searching for pretend creatures!Throughout her life, she jumped at any chance to travel, having been to all 50 states, and also Nova Scotia and the Panama Canal. Some notable trips were to Hawaii with her son Bart, Alaska with her sister Joann, and various road trips with her daughter Cindy and family. Almost yearly, she visited Tom and Nancy, who made sure to take her to her favorite restaurants and shops.Hers was a life well lived, and her memory continues to brighten the lives of her family and friends. Per Carole's wishes, her funeral will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Ashley Addiction Treatment, 800 Tydings Lane, Havre De Grace, MD 21078.
